Timelanders Guide for Travel Guides (Grown-ups)
Welcome to this privileged journey of walking alongside children as they learn to spend time with God in His Word, the Bible. Timelanders is designed to help children discover God, explore their questions, and lead them to finding faith and life in Christ.
Over the next three years Timelanders will take the children through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation to discover God’s Big Story and their place in it. The role of the Travel Guide is to support and nurture them on this journey. Your role is critical to helping children reflect on God’s word and to know, love, and follow Jesus. In doing so, you will be helping them in the formation of identity, value, and purpose.
What is Timelanders?
Timelanders is a Bible guide designed to help children take a deep dive into God’s Word. Each week Timelanders will take a Trip back in time to a place in the Bible. On the first day of the trip, they will explore a passage of Scripture, meet the people involved, and hear their story. On days 2–5 they will explore parts of the passage in detail. They will then return home and on Day 6 will explore key themes from the passage and think about what they learned about God and themselves. On Day 7 they are encouraged to talk to their Travel Guide about the trip.
How can Timelanders be used?
Timelanders can be used individually by a child who connects regularly with their Travel Guide or in a group setting. The Day 6 questions and other weekly activities and downloads are ideal for use with a group.
